Donny,

Check your email, there’s a few ways on how to. I gave you how I would do it at least the way I’m most comfortable with.

John, No your brain isn’t slipping. I suggested this knowing it could be a little more involved that maybe DNJ wanted it to be. In the end I think for DNJ’s needs the iPad app called Lyrics+ may be the solution. No matter what there’s probably some tedious work involved. The first way I suggested was under the #1, the easier way for his needs is what I’ve written under #2

1. Here’s what I would suggest although there’s probably more than one way to do it. I think if you asked different people each would have their own way of doing it. I’ve thought about the best way for you to handle it and I’ll give you what I would do if I were going to convert text files for the ipad.

Here’s my way I like unReal book but that iPad app uses PDF files not text files. So based on that my suggestion is to use unReal book available at the Apple App Store. Your biggest project will be to get your text files over to a place like Dropbox or iCloud so that you can download them to the iPad.

The next step will be to use the free Pages app ( that’s Apple’s version of Microsoft Word). Once you open your text file in Pages, you can then save it as a PDF, the PDF will then give you the option to open in an app of your choice. IN this case you would chose unreal book. I’m not sure how many text files you have but this could be a labor intensive conversion. Off hand I’m not familiar with any program to batch convert your text files. I’ll take a look around.

I like unreal book because it alphabetizes everything and if you need to do a search it’s very quick. You can also create a playlist of your lyrics depending on the occasion your playing for.

#2 Go to the Apple App Store on your iPad and check out the app Lyrics+. This may be a better option for you. I have never used it but just did the download for $1.99 and from what I can see this may be what you need.

I experimented a little with Lyrics+ and if need lyrics only this is what I’d use. The app has the ability to scroll lyrics and create set lists all good stuff Good Reader is a good program too, I store every owner’s manual I have in GoodReader but in my opinion it’s not the best solution for lyric or leadsheets.

Well after lots of trial and tribulations and major aggravation
I have found an ios App that suits my needs
(saw it on Sweetwater ios updaye video)

...simple to use but very effective JUST FOR LYRICS
it's called My Lyrics Book ($2.99) and works perfectly,
and loads all my TXT. lyrics at once via iTunes. cool2
Nothing fancy just does the job very well.. clap

Good to know Donny, as I hope to order an Ipad in the very near future. What model did you end up getting and why?
