There have been several PSR series boards that have been geared toward various ethnic areas. The 1500 came out the same time as the 3000, mainly as a lower priced model of the 3000 and could be ordered with the India features, voices and styles.

Gary, I think most arranger keyboards have been able to handle the oriental market.. They have scale tuning, oriental instrument sounds, and content of oriental styles can be added..

Gary...it looks as if this is a new model of the same stuff. I could be wrong, but all the info I’m seeing is recent, the PSRi500.

Thanks,
JM

I guess India is a so-called “emerging market” which can be tempting because there are more people than in Europe and US put together, and rather risky, too, because most of Indians do not get more than $80-$120 per month — no wonder PSI-500 is based on an entry-level instrument. In Russia, by the way, a lot of people do not get more than $300 per month either, yet there’re a lot of cars like BMW X6 or Lexus in the streets.

If I recall correctly, the oriental models had a large assortment of oriental styles and voices and emphasized them over the conventional styles and voices found on the US and European PSR-1500 models. Essentially, the US and European PSR-1500s were nothing more than a less expensive, or low end PSR-3000.
