Looks like a good entry level board.

No vocal processor, at least I could not find one.

Gary I always sing thru a fx mixer...
And VH has become a bit too cheesy..
No need for on board mic processor..
S670 same way and sounds amazing too.

So what's the moral of this story?

Donny, I eliminated a mixer from my setup two decades ago - just one more thing that wasn't necessary and one more thing that could drop dead in the middle of a performance. Today's onboard vocal processors are outstanding, but like all vocal processors, they have to be fine-tuned for your vocals. This takes a bit of work, and I guess there are lots of entertainers that don't want to take the time to make them sound great. It probably took me about a week of working with the onboard processor to get it right, but it was well worth the effort.

I recently recorded this song using the PSR-S950's vocal processor, no harmonies, mainly because the song just doesn't need any, which is often the case. I think you'll find the vocals are crisp, clear and clean, which is what I wanted to achieve. Until It's Time For You To Go

Very good recording and performance Gary!

The “moral of this story” is you don’t need spend too much money on KB. But yes, you do have put in LOTS of work to play it well smile

Cant agree on the mixer theory Gary.....
It's certainly a crucial part of a rig imo.

No, it's a crucial part of YOUR RIG, Donny. I have helped a lot of guys with their setups, including some of the top OMB players in the Mid-Atlantic Region, constructed custom consoles for at least a dozen of them, and none of them currently use mixers. Now, I agree, a mixer would be necessary for more than one instrument and, or, another vocalist, but as a single, it's no longer a requirement. Today's arranger keyboards have all the inputs and outputs needed for an OMB setup - you just need to use them properly.

Good luck,

Gary cool

The Casio piano sounds fantastic to me, and the styles definitely have lots of punch. It sells for $499 just about everywhere.

If you read what I said Dave the key word is "ONBOARD" here
a stand alone TC unit is much better as you well know...
secondly "CHEESY pertains to most of the demos I hear of artists using the VH incorrectly to a point that I cringe when listening ...
but that's only my opinion.
Only a few like yourself is the exception. Although I myself have learned the art of VH from you thru the years and am very appreciative for that. But now utilize it in more of in a studio situation for backing tracks harmonies etc.

Take care

OK, all's forgiven... even though the ONBOARD harmonizer in my Korg is better than a lot of other stand alone units.
smile
