Hi all,

OK, so now that the Genos have been around for some time, could it eventually be worth waiting for the next model to show up?
I currently have a Mac and using software instruments, but it could be nice to have something with styles and great sounds. I had a Tyros 3 in the passed, but thinking about the Genos or the PA4X.
So, what are your opinions?
Many thanks!

If you can, play both.
They are both fantastic keyboards with a different approach.
Genos 2 is at least 2 years out ...
Long wait.
One way to approach it: If you like Yamaha and feel comfortable get the Genos.
If you need a change and a new challenge get the PA4X
You can't go wrong either way.
One thing to consider: there is a lot more support and free stuff for Yamaha.
Good Luck.
Keep us posted.
Eric

If money is no object... go for whichever one you desire. Not knowing your total objective, current state of talent or past accomplishments with the T3... it is difficult to offer you meaningful advice.

I agree with Eric but wonder if something less expensive would satisfy your needs?

Best of luck, regardless.

I would dare to say that Genos 2 is atleast 3 years away with Yamaha’s new release strategy. I expect a PA5x after summer or early next year...

Both are very nice keyboards, i owned both..
As a home player, i really like Genos more..
Espescially for all the free stuff available as you said..
If you want out of the box performance Genos is your choice
The SA2 voices and Ensemble voices set it appart from Pa4x feature Wise
Also the fact that you can play a midi file and a style at the same time sets it apart
The typical workflow on Yamaha is to prepare things before you start..

However, the pa4x is more aimed at creativity
It gives you much more editing and creation features
Not just in preperation but also during live play..

I dont think you can go wrong with either of them...

I had a PA4X and really enjoyed it.

I now have a Yamaha Genos and really like it!

When buying... go to the right place and ask if B or C stock is a available. I saved thousands.

The new Update in June will address many things esp the song player section I send Yamaha a long list of things to fix in this section and I have heard some have been addressed

I hope so it will make it a much better keyboard for all .
