In Audya 4, step by step how do I set a different lead (right hand) voice for each of the 4 arrangements in a registration? I've been told that I must do this in a "user style" first and then the style gets save into a registration but I can't seem to even get this saved into a user style.

Any suggestions besides reading the manual, I've tried that

Thanks, Gary

Sharing the answer from AJ, Mystery solved :-)

It is capable of doing this .

Each style can save up to 4 voices per Arranger part.
- pick style you want to modify
- go to style mode.
- go to page 2/2
- A-D on left side (F1-F4) represents the voices assigned to the parts. So press F1 and pick a voice for a Arranger A. Repeat for the others.
- F5 turns this feature on/off for this particular style. Turn on.
- F10 turns on this feature globally for all styles. Turn on.
- when done, press save and save style.
- exit, press save and press custom start up so these setting are recalled each time the keyboard is turned On.

Thanks. Please post this response on SZ

Yes you can (same as SD7, SD9, SD40, SD80, MIDJAY PRO).

Similar system called VOICE TO ABCD - just remember that the style is what stores the voices
- Select the style you want to use
- Touch VOICE&Var to display the top voices (which you can assign to any arranger part) and the bottom style voices which you can quickly turn on/off.
- By default, the first voice (row 1) is assigned to Arr A, 2nd to ARR B ..etc.
- Touch and hold the 1st voice for 2 seconds to edit it.
- From the next page, select the voice you want to put in this location.
- Repeat for the next 3 voices.
- Now, assign each voice to each arranger ...e.g if you want the 2nd voice to be turned on when you pplay Arranger D, press the Arranger D button, then touch the 2nd voice on the 1st row.
- If you want the 1st voice to be turned on when you press Arranger A, press Arranger A, then touch the 1st voice.
- Repeat for all the various arranger sections (A-D).
- Now TEST. MAKE SURE VOICE TO ABCD IS ON (meaning when you change the arranger, you want it to automatically select the lead voices as programmed).
- When you press ARR A, the voice you associated with it above should turn on. When you press ARR B, it should also select it's voice ... etc.
- When satisfied, press the SAVE button, touch USER STYLE and save the 'new' style as a user style. (THIS STYLE CAN NOW BE RECALLED BY ANY REGISTRATION FOR FUTURE USE).
- Now set up the rest of the keyboard as needed (tempo, tranpose ...etc).
- When satisfied, press SAVE, touch REGISTRATION and save and name your registration in the next screen.
- When next you recall this register, it will recall the user style - which in turn recalls the Voice to ABCD setting you stored with it.

*** Note! As you play live, you may decied to deactivate this feature ... by simply turning off VOICE TO ABCE!

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

I usually skip creating a user style and save the modified style under registration and it works. Same thing with the voicetron to arranger, skipping the creation of user voicetron setting, saving everything to a registration. I'm really impressed by the SD90! Is it also implemented now in SD40 and MidJay Pro? My previous SD40 and MidJay Pro won't do this.
Thanks a lot AJ for the info

This works too ... but it means you have to always edit the stye's voice parts each time you want to create another similar registration. With the menthod above, it is done once only. Whenever you want to use that same setup in another registration with minor changes say tempo, transpose ... etc, simply use that same style :-)

Thanks,

Yes, I find it very useful to tweak styles and save them as user styles for use later if needed. It saves a lot of time. I probably have 1000 + user style variations that I have created over the last 4 years.

Typically, my registrations are fine tuned for specific songs. So, creating separate user styles, voicetron settings added more steps and assigning names to them. I found it easier and straight forward to tweak styles, voicetron etc under registration. But, it's good that Ketron has multiple ways to these.

PS
I was surprised when I upgraded to SD90 from MidJay Pro. I just copied all the MJPro registrations to the new SD90 and and it works almost 100%! I didn't copied any styles or user styles from MJPro.
