As I have mentioned before, Casio came out with the PX S1000 and S3000. From what I had read early on, these new keyboards were incorporating both the AIR and AIX chipsets.

The AIR chipset is designed for piano sounds(I gather) and the AIX for acoustic instruments.

The most recent info I have read says that the PX S1000/S3000 contain only the (piano) AIR chipsets.

Anybody know?

Although I’m not an engineer, when it comes to acoustic sounds, in my mind, it’s about what sounds they put into the keyboard in the first place, and not about what algorithm they use to get it out. I wouldn’t be surprised if all these names are just an invention of a department of marketing and don’t have a lot to do with the reality.

Tx.

Casio actually has two sound engines...and AIR and AIX.

The AIR is designed to reproduce piano sounds and the AIX, acoustic instruments.

I just wondered which one, or both, were in the PX S3000.

I would ask this question on the Casio forum but I forgot my password and have been waiting a couple of days for the forum to send me instructions on how to update my password.

Update, I called Sweetwater, the chipset in the new keyboards is an updated AIR chipset.
