midi to cv converter, I use a JKJ Electronics box but there are others.

Thing is I don't know if there is a CV input to the 303, however there is probally a mod out there if it is not standard on the unit.

Check the analog heaven archives

If I remember the 303 correct, the CV and Gate connections are of the smaller mini-jack type. That's what the MC-202 has anyway.

Check out the Philip Rees MCV midi-to-CV. I use it to sequence my SH-5. It's kinda cheap too compared to some of the boxes out there. The MCV has full 1/4" connections though.

The control voltages are converted into MIDI info. You hook up the converter the usual way with midi. You need to pay attention to the voltages used. Different manufacturers have different values, this has to do with tuning mostly. Ask your dealer, they know.

Lets recap: 303 -CV/GATE-> converter -MIDI-> computer

The bottom line is that you still CAN NOT control the filter cutoff with MIDI . The CV and Gate is ONLY for controlling the synth part of the TB-303 . Control Voltage is for the pitch , gate is note on and note off . That is all it can handle . Unless you break it open and do some serious Modification .

whoops for to mention in my first post that the it would need a CV input to the Filter and to see if there is a Mod for that as I did not think there was a CV input for the filter frequency.

If it has been done it was most likely already cover on the Analog Heaven mailing list, or for that matter may lives a the Music Machines over at hyperreal already.

Search the archives there to see if you can find a modification allowing you to get CV control of the filter Frequency, which means breaking the box open and busting out your soldering iron a cutting into some traces to get some CV "control voltage" to the analog filter. If that is not worth it for you to do then don't do it.

I do not own a 303 so that is all the help I can give, sorry the first post wasn't that clear.
