This was sequenced through the Yamaha S-950 at 1 p.m. today. I did the vocals and played some flute during the interlude, maybe just enough playing to mess things up a bit. I tried to make it sound as realistic as possible given my lack of musical talents. I know Donny wanted to hear this through a Genos, but I decided to piss my money away on booze, boating and fattening food. wink

Here's my rendition of Africa

This is a great song, but one that I rarely performed because it's not a dance tune, and music is what my audiences expected.

Thanks Donny. Because of my limited lung capacity, I had some trouble in that section of lyrics where it references Olympus to Kilimanjaro. Additionally, I had problems carrying the longer notes.

Thanks for listening and commenting,

Wow, Gary:

No excuses necessary, my friend. Donny is right... this is not an easy song to sing, play or arrange. Take a bow. Enjoyed.

Thanks guys. I'm able to be off the supplemental oxygen for about an hour a day, which allowed me to record this song. I hope to be able to record a few more before the end of the month. Tonight, the temperature is going down to about 1 degree f, which is brutal for this old codger to even think about venturing outdoors. The mail will sit in the mailbox until temperatures get to half my age. wink

All the best, and thanks for listening and commenting,

Gary cool

Gary, you did a good job. I have not heard that song before, but what I heard was done professionally. Good style, clear voice – everything was balanced well. Gary ya still got it.

Good job on a hard song. I admire you going out of your comfort zone to explore something different. Also the issue you had on the last few recording with the feedback seemed to clear up. Thanks for pointing!
