I did buy this laptop(much lower price than here) Works great. Wish I could figure out some way to use it with my Casio PX560.

Wow! Nice machine. Total overkill for your STATED purposes, but at least you should be future-proofed for quite some time. You could probably accomplish what you wanted to do (gleaned from previous posts) with a (Windows) machine in the 4-500.00 range (300.00 range from a reputable refurbisher). But hey, no substitute for quality if you can afford it. All your other equipment is TOTL, so why not your laptop smile (my son's that way, only TOTL, no substitues - good thing he didn't get to choose his parents smile ). Good luck with your new tool, it's a beauty.

However, should serve me well.

Hi guitpic1,

I can think of the following 2 arranger related applications for you to use with your Casio PX560 (I did this with Lenovo Yoga 720 before, now I use Microsoft Surface Pro 6):

1. vArranger 2 - use your Casio PX560 as the master keyboard, you can use sound module such as Ketron SD1000, or free/commercial sound fonts via vArranger Synth.

2. V-Console for Genos - use your Casio PX560 as the lower keyboard, with Yamaha Genos as the upper keyboard, transform them to an orchestral organ.

I personally like Windows 10 touchscreen tablet like the Microsoft Surface Pro 6 better than traditional laptop due to its physical tablet form, much easier placement for keyboard playing. Lenovo Yoga 2-in-1 touchscreen series is good for occasional 'tablet' mode by folding its keyboard backwards, which can trigger some unwanted key strokes when resting the keyboard on hard surface, therefore, not as convenient as the versatile Microsoft Surface Pro series, with detachable type cover keyboard.

Thanks,
Paul

You're right, that was very presumptuous of me. I was thinking dedicated music computer but obviously a powerful machine like that is capable of doing much, much more. Just a little case of 'foot in mouth' disease, that's all smile.

Chas, if you had left off the plural, you would have been home free. lol

tx all for the responses.

Paul, I looked at the Microsoft Surface 2/1. However, they appear to be twice the cost of the Lenovo for the same specs. tx for the tips on musical uses for the Lenovo.

Chas, I will be using the Lenovo for video/picture editing as well as a number of other demanding activities. Actually, the Lenovo is about the minimum I could get by with for what I want to do.
