Sharing a short random Piano recording. Italian Piano is a factory Piano preset. I could've developed the theme a lot better, but there's so much you can do with a 61 keys.

Very pretty ... Thank you ...

Does Italian piano refer to the Fazioli Grand Piano in "Shades of Grey" ?

Nice playing. I thought the piano sounded great in the middle and lower octaves, but a bit 'bright' (for me) in the upper octaves. JMO, though.

Thats how a fazioli is supposed to sound.

I love how on todays keyboards we are not discussing the actuall samples anymore... but the characteristics of the orriginal product... thats why i am a steinway or Bosendorf kind of guy.... and only use Yamaha grands in a backing...

Very nice. I have to stay away from Italian pianos because the carbs are bad for my blood sugar.

Beautiful melody, great playing and good sound! bow
My left hand do not listen to me when try act like an pianist, and the right has long way to go.
But, in my next life I will work hard to play like that.

Thank you everybody.

YouTube compression algorithm does something funny to the audio. When I compare my actual wave recording with the YouTube version the difference is VERY noticeable....especially the highs seem to be distorting a bit.

Oh man, that's exactly how I feel when I go back to pieces that I used to be able to play.

Here's another recording of 'Concert Grand' from the Pa4x. It has a totally different character from the Italian. It has less carbs for sure!

I like the tone of this piano 100% better. Both the 'attack' and the tone are much more natural (authentic?). JMO.

If only listen and not see the video, I would never guessed that is an arranger used.

Thank you Sparky, cgiles, Gunnar...

"If only listen and not see the video, I would never guessed that is an arranger used."

That's exactly why arranger keyboards should receive more attention from the keyboardist community. I've talked to many professional keyboardists and almost everybody believes arranger keyboards are really meant for beginners and hobbyists. For some reasons they think one finger mode and style player features are what these instruments are all about. They don't see them as features. A very common misconception! YouTube videos probably have to do with it. Even official videos do a real bad job showcasing the instrument sometimes.

But here's the thing. The MARKET drives manufacturers decisions when it comes to both design, features, and marketing. They look at who buys Arranger keyboards, especially TOTL ones, and guess what; Ol' folks rule. The (old) heart wants what the heart wants and plus, they are the ones most able to afford them. Trust me, the situation didn't get this way by accident.

They ruled. That's a thing of the past. With no interest long term financing options that's no longer a problem. You can get up to 24 and even 48 months NO interest financing deals. I have about 20 to 30 referrals for Korg Keyboards annually...almost all for users under 30 and 40! These keyboards are no longer out of reach. None of the latest Korg updates were geared towards the older generation. The user manual is over a 1000 pages and gets more technical by day. Arranger keyboards could be anybody and everybody's instrument these days.

In any case what I was talking about doesn't really have anything to do with age demographic. There's no excuse for producing poor marketing content in general, especially if the features in question could also be the selling point.

Anyways, this all could be a different topic I think.

In case if you own the latest Korg Pa series, John (known as Reuben on Korg Forums) produced this wonderful free Piano soundset.

This demo features Yamaha C5 and C5 Dark Grand from that Soundset.

Thank you very much.

88 keys does offer a lot more flexibility for sure. Obviously you can't play full blown classical music on anything smaller but that's why we have good 'stage pianos'. I'm just not fond of ALL IN ONE solutions. They get way too expensive and you don't even get the best of both worlds. They always end up cutting corners...
