Its not working because you need a unlatching switch

Ouch - A bold move. Any chance you can verify your pedal is working as expected on some other device first? So we only have an SD40 at this point but we will have an Audya5 in a few days. Can't say until then how close the steps are between the two.

We published this video showing the backup options/steps on an SD40. Take a look - Maybe it will help? If you can wait a day or two we will give it a try on the new Audya5 and report back...

Oh i will wait and also test my pedal on another device. Perhaps even a faulty cable!

On the KETRON products, there is a unique PIANIST feature (AUTO/SUSTAIN) where once you connect a SUSTAIN pedal to the SUSTAIN jack at the back of the Arranger unit, play a chord and press the pedal, any other subsequent notes/chords played are ignored (allowing you to 'solo' freely across the entire keyboard with no impact to the arranger/style). Once you release the pedal, the arranger now 'reads' chords played anywhere on the keyboard. This feature allows you to play like a PIANIST who generally sustains when playing notes aligned to the current chord played, and then releases the sustain pedal when about to play the next chord/notes

Hope this clarifies this.

Thanks,

PS:- On the 'newer' units like SD40, SD9 ... etc, sustain pedals polarity switch can be set, allowing you to use various types of sustain pedals from other manufacturers other than KETRON!

Just unboxed an Audya5 and hooked up a pedal we have laying around. Works as expected. In our case, we had to use the switch on the bottom as it was backward of what you would expect. Soon as we switched the polarity on it working fine.
