I was never much on jazz but lately with all these jazz posts here, it's beginning to grow on me. I'm listening to the videos and wondering what magic formulas they're actually using to sound "jazzy." I was surprised when I slowed down the music that it wasn't a "magic formula" but just good runs on scales, broken chords, extended chords, "blues" notes, etc. It seems to be all in the phrasing.

So I'm studying this stuff like this....I slowed down a few videos 1-2 times and I listen bit by bit. If anyone wants to hear what Jesus is doing, I'm posting the original video and two "slowed down" versions.
