There were about 45 folks, dining room maybe 40ft. across.

Placed speakers on stands, in stereo, one on each side of Genos...slightly forward of Genos. Next time I’ll move them behind me...still, I had no trouble hearing.

Before the gig, I ran a lively style and walked about the room. Genos at about 40% and Bose at about 30% I estimate. Sound was rich and not too bassy. At those settings, it was plenty loud...plenty of head room.

This is a place I’ve been going about once a month...last 10 years. I asked the activity director(known her for years...candid on her opinion of sound) what she thought. She would not hesitate to tell me if she didn’t like the sound.

Her response? This is the best I’ve ever heard you sound...and I trust her opinion. She said my vocals sounded very good and I could hear that.

Best part for me? Heaviest piece I had to carry, was Genos at under 40lbs with case.

This is early times but I may have found a rig for me for the future.

guitpic, congratulations ... keep it going ... rocker

BTW ... I will usually play a midi file or an MP3 for a sound check ... that way people aren't hearing the same style over and over ...

Great to hear the news. All about reducing the load and adding quality - way to go!

Question: are you using a mixer, or going direct from keys to bose?

No mixer. Everything run through Genos.

My gigs will be few and far between this spring as I recuperate. I’m hoping to get down to two systems. The S1’s for any solo gigs I do and the JBL Eon One for when my wife joins me.

Time will tell. However, at this point, it seems the S1 is capable of anything I could do with an L1 Compact.

One other thing. Yesterday I had folks sitting within a few feet of the S1 and folks all the way to the back of the room.

Folks I talked to, whether they sat close or a distance away, all told me the sound was very good.

Tx

As my health returns, I’ll be taking on more gigs. Maybe not as much as in the past. Also, if this lighter Bose and Genos hadn’t come along...don’t know if I would have tried gigging again. 🤔

Also, for the first time, I’m enjoying just playing for myself. 😊
