When I was much younger, I watched the winter Olympics religiously. I really enjoyed watching the figure skating events, ski jumping and bob sledding. Now I tend to be in the same category as Chas, drifting off during the Luge.  All the best, Gary

Just so that you get things in perspective THE NETHERLANDS 1 NO mountains at all 2 NO Hills, (with the exception of a few inthe very southeast) 3 SNOW, on average snow every four or five winters. For no more then 3 β 4 weeks, with 10 β20cm tops !! 4. ICE. ( misconception worldwide. Many mild winters with no significant ice. Every four to five years a period of max.3- 4 weeks during which there is enough ice to do some skating.) 5 POPULATION : 18 MILLION PEOPLE MEDAL TABLE: Medal results for all countries, sorted by gold medals won Total Norway 13 14 10 37 Germany 13 7 6 26 Canada 10 8 9 27 United States 8 7 6 21 Netherlands 8 6 4 18 Sweden 6 5 0 11 France 5 4 6 15 Austria 5 2 6 13 South Korea 4 4 4 12 Switzerland 3 6 4 13 Japan 3 5 3 11 Italy 3 2 5 10 ................  regards, John
