Was feeling good on my way back from a 20 plus hour soundtrack session in Louisville. Had a little upset stomach on the way back, so I didn't stop for coffee, as I usually did.

When I tried to get out of my car, I has the most excruciating pain in my left side. I knew instantly it was diverticulitis.
I had a much less severe version years ago, only discovered during a scan for damage from a fall.

This is BAD! I'm on clear liquids and jello for a week, and a killer antibiotic. They say if the pain does not subside in a few days, I'll have to have surgery.

Left untreated, this can be fatal. Watch out folks, and head for help quick if you develop a severe pain in your left side.

Russ

You got this Russ. But just in case can I have your STUFF. smile
Seriously, my mother fought that off and on for years. You will have to watch your diet very carefully.

Well, looks like you'll go to any lengths to get out of buying me dinner. Get well man, we've got lots of stuff to do. Call me if there's anything I can do.

Russ I had the same problem after driving to Jacksonville. I thought I would get to see my daughter and avoid the storm.

Russ, turn it into a positive. Because of diverticulitis and diabetes I have learned to treat myself better; I eat with a purpose.

Good health to you Russ, John C.

I lost 1/3 of my colon to that disease over 20 years ago. This was after years of problems and many antibiotic applications.

Hopefully you’ll be fine in a week or two, those antibiotics work wonders.

I learned to eat a high fiber diet with lots of liquid to flush out the system.

Take care and good luck. Sounds like a painful disease. Listen to the Docs.
