I have not seen a single video of someone with a PA 1000 on youtube anywhere outside of music shops of official Korg Demos.. But there are already plenty of PA700 videos and now the genos are slowing trickling in...

Why was the PA 1000 not shipped with he PA 700 at the same time?? Bugs perhaps?

Korg is waiting to see what Yamaha does as a release date for their new motl arranger...at half the price of the expensive genos many are waiting for that model for sure.....good strategy for KORG not to jump the gun..

Dave,
My Korg rep called today and told me that the 1000 won't be shipping until sometime in November. Something about a manufacturing issue.

LOL its actually at the point now where one would ask "is he actually being paid by korg to brag for them in this forum?"... cant wait till the day where he buys a Genos or the next MOTL Yam... we all know its going to happen.

Go easy on my boy. He's lonely, now that he's a bit more than semi-retired. He needs another hobby to take him OFF the computer, now that he's not playing as much. He makes me crazy too, with his instant praise posts, but he's got a good heart, and he means well. He just needs to breathe, and count to 10 (thousand) before posting about the next, greatest, most AMAZING thing he loves the mostest, for all eternity, and beyond!

Yeah, just an extended form of 'youthful enthusiasm', also known in some circles as 'immaturity'. But nothing wrong with that; better that than losing all interest in things that were always so important to us. Retirement or even semi-retirement can leave a HUGE space if one has not developed alternative activities to occupy the time usually reserved for work. If one has always been active on social media (including specialty forums), it's not unusual that that activity would increase in retirement or semi-retirement. But isn't that better than slipping off into despair, loneliness, and social oblivion? Maybe their level of participation may seem excessive or even mildly annoying to some of us, but looking at the big picture, is that their problem or ours? I kid Donny a lot but not maliciously 'cause I know that at his core he IS a good guy and that his actions and intentions ARE well-meaning. Truth is, I think his posting HAS slowed down a bit recently; I need to do the same.

I went from technics KN6000 to KORG Pa600 and now Pa900... at first the OS was daunting ... but after only a week or so everything fell into place and it became so easy and logical ...
I am sure you will find a LOT of help here and on the KORG forum

I don't know about that...but let's hope someday they put a quality keybed in it...it might cost $10 more for them.....The keybed in the T series I believe is the same they put in all PRO model digital workstations and I think the older organs too. (I had a Yamaha HS-8 years ago and the keys were great...and the T5 feels the same).

all they need to do is use the MOXF keybed in the psr and it will be acceptable.

+1 I'm having reservations about this 1000 (forthcoming also) vs the 3x I've enjoyed so much to date. If this key bed is like the 900, I will have to sell it - hoping for the best.

I really expect the 1000 to be 90% 900, and 10% upgrades. We know it has a boosted speakers system, and the screen, of course, but it looks like the casing is exactly the same as the 900, so I'm guessing the keybed will be the same. Just a guess, but all things lean that way. I don't mind the 900 action. I prefer the *X action, and abhor the psr action, but I can certainly live with something that feels like the 900.

Time will tell. Maybe I was too quick to judge the 900, will try again and hope for the best - the wait continues..........

Maybe I'm misreading the specs on the 1000, but does it say the mic input has only a 1/4" jack? Why no xlr?

Everything about the 1000 suggests that it's a 900 upgrade. The 900 had 1/4". The 900 had no EC-5, the 900 has speakers etc.
This does not appear to be baby 4x, but rather, a 900 on steroids.
The vocal processor in the 4x is a higher end product than the one in the 900 - The 900 has a fantastic unit, but the 4X is even better

My first full keyboard, after solton/ketron modules, was a pa500, and I didn't see what all of the hullabaloo about the navigation was. Tried a yam 950 and thought it was more complicated. Back to pa600 and was comfortable again where they simplified some things from 500. Was posthumously gifted a tyros 2 or I would be using a korg still, or ketron. No need for more than one at the moment.
