I used a Shure Beta 58a since 1995. It's a workhorse of a microphone and has never let me down. My wife got a Neumann KMS104plus and it is outstanding and she is a deserving vocalist. She really loves it!

So, I finally got a Sennheiser e935 and boy, what an upgrade!! It's like lifting the pillow off of the Beta 58a. Sang through it tonight at church and it is fantastic!! Sang through the Pa4X and direct to Yamaha MSR250 monitors. Next gig is July 24th... looking forward to it!

Thank you for all of you who spoke so highly of the Sennheiser e935... it is totally worth the $10 more than a Shure Beta58a. But I still only paid $144 for it with a discount. Thanks!!!

Congrats on the e935. About 7 years ago SZ member Mikey Maestro sold me on the merits of the e935. I did buy one and have never looked back. Fantastic mic!

935 is my new favorite ... I won't let my guests touch mine! (They get the 835)

It is a great 2nd Mic on stage......I have my Neumann KMS 105 while I play the PA4X & the Sennheiser is propped up 6 feet to the left when I grab the acoustic guitar and play standing up.

It holds it's own against the Neumann and there is little drop off in quality. A smidge that only I can see

I agree! I've tried several times to love the Neumann, but in the scenario of playing directly through a digital arranger I can't justify the extra cost. The only time the 105 sounded better was when I go direct to a mixer with good preamps. If I was doing more with conventional setups, I'd have a 105.

I've owned a Sennheiser E-855 since the first time I head DNJ using one on stage about 15 years ago - great mic, excellent feedback rejection, incredible clarity and quality.
