Hello,

I have connected a keyboard to the MIDI IN of my PSR-S970. I have tried to do the following with no success:
- Turn on the HARMONY in the S970
- Play the right hand on the second keyboard
- Play the left hand on the S970 for accompaniment and chord input

The result: the S970 plays the single note that is being played on the second keyboard with no harmony. I would like the S970 plays the note that is being received via MIDI with the harmony added to it (left hand is being played on the S970 so there is chord input). NOTE: If I play the right hand on the S970, the harmony is played correctly.

Does anyone have an idea of how to make it work? Do I have to change any harmony of MIDI receive settings on the S970?

Thanks a lot.
Guillermo.

Are you talking vocal harmony, or instrument harmony - big difference in the setup.

Gary I think what Guillermo is saying setting up instrument harmony sounds on the S970 then trying to use a second MIDI KB which doesn't utilize the instrument harmony feature of the sound on the second keyboard when played from the S970...

Hi Gary,

Dnj is right. I'm talking about instrument harmony, which is not "applied" to the incoming notes on the MIDI Input. (the left hand is played on the S970).

Thanks.

No way to trigger this with midi information that I am aware of.

Sorry I cannot be of more assistance,

I found the solution on the MIDI Channel Receive settings, it has to be set to KEYBOARD.

Thanks for watching.

Hi Dnj,

I'm making an arrangement of Bach "Air on the G String" using my S970, Yamaha TG33, Alesis QSPP and Ketron SD1.

The TG33 is one of the best synthesizers I've ever had (it it 27 years old!). It has unique sounds.
