I just bought a Ferrofish4000+ drawbar organ module. I'd like to midi it up to my s950, but only the upper keyboard. Anyone have any experience, knowledge or opinions on this concept?

I think you just need to match the midi channel for upper manual. Midi organ modules and even Organ VST instruments ususally take 3 different midi channels; the upper, the lower, and the pedal.

Just found this in the manual page 2

Attach your MIDI keyboard to MIDI A. You can play the
upper register (manual) via MIDI channel 1. The lower register
is on MIDI channel 2, and the pedal register on MIDI channel
3. In order to attach another MIDI keyboard for the lower
register easily, use the MIDI B input. Here channel 1 is set to
the lower register.
To load a preset, press the Preset key, and select the desired
preset with knob A.

Thanks Donny, I knew you'd post a picture or video. ☝️ The link is blocked. Gotta use YouTube.
Thanks Torch. Is that the Ferro manual or the s950 manual? 👊🏼

It is the Fero manual. http://www.ferrofish.de/download/b4000/b4000p_en.pdf

Enjoy the unit. It's nice and small. I had a couple of chances to buy the Hammond module XM2 with the drawbar unit, but no way to carry them around. I looked into the Ferro, for my air travel I decided to go all software. AcousticSamples updated their B5 Organ to V2. A vast improment in sounds and rotary effects. Now I feel it is better than VB3 in many respects. I like all kinds of organ sounds.

Here is a guy from Germany using it in combination with a Tyros4.
Even though in German still interesting.
He is well known like Peter Baartmans etc.
You can write to him via YouTube.
I am sure he'll help. wink

Donny - I get the option of a third voice, real drawbars and a better sounding clone.
