So I have the Allen & Heath QU24 which has all the bells & whistles....I will be doing everything from the mixing board. QU24 to my left, PA4X in front, dual acoustic guitars on my left....

Need to upgrade speaker system from 2 Harbinger Vari 2115's & the Harbinger MA350 PA.....(relegated to monitor duty)

Budget is 3K...Do I spend the $$$ on top shelf speakers, or do I go Bose even though parts of it may be redundant? L1 Model II with Single B2 Bass T1 Module

If you're only playing in the studio, I'd get dedicated studio monitors with a great sub. The Bose, as good as they are (and I love them) are much better suited for live play. In close quarters, the stereo imaging gets wasted by the wide coverage. If I had your setup, I might even go with the QSC K8s with a single stereo sub. Trust me ... it's killer, and the K8 horn has a wider dispersion than most speakers that size. That system could easily transport to most stages too!

I use the Yamaha DXR10 speakers in stereo. For some bigger gigs, I add an EV SbA760 to round out the kick and bass. I also have the RCF ART 312a and 310a. Each are good for the right gigs.

The QSC K8 speakers are fantastic and very portable speakers. Also add a sub for bottom. They are coming out with a new subwoofer called the K Cardioid Sub. Specs look promising... paired with the K8 or K10 and that system would rock for 250-300 people

FBT, HK Audio, LD Systems make great options for you. The new FBT ProMaxx 114a looks like a great all around speaker for what you do.

So many options... so many opinions. As always, use your ears and don't let your wife throw out the speaker boxes just in case!!!

I use a simple GX6 Yamaha mixer and QSC10s. Powerful and beautiful stereo sound.

Most everyone on another forum is saying QSC 12's....I posted here specifically to get the BOSE users take on this, but they are silent???? BOSE is15% off until tomorrow and time is winding down "if" I go in that direction. So far it is like 10 to zero in favor of speakers....A total landslide

I guess my biggest question, which no one has addressed is "because" I have the mixer, are many of the functions of the BOSE semi-obsolete, thereby 'tossing" away $$$$.....

I WILL be running everything from my mixer rather than the BOSE which makes me think I am literally throwing away 1K in features I will never use....I'm not even sure how to integrate the tonematch in that set-up.

Since I have the mixer & 3 monitors that were formerly FOH, 2 Harbinger Vari 2115's & the Harbinger MA350 PA.....(relegated to monitor duty) I'm wrestling with utilizing all my existing equipment to the best....

Thoughts on that aspect anyone?

I changed from Bose to LD Systems Maui 5 speakers. To me they sound better, more bottom, more controls, bluetooth, and about half the price!

if you have a great mixer you don't have to buy the tonematch by bose just use your mixer and by the way the maui 5 is a line array
if you don't get the tonematch you can save $1000 on a pair of L1's
