The Pa4x will be here by Wednesday. No onboard speakers.
So what do I use?

My Questions:
1- How is the Pasa? (spelling)Has anyone used it on a small job.
2- The room I am using is the size of a small bedroom. I would like two small quality speakers, what would you suggest?
3- I have a Bose Compact, I would rather not use it in the room.
4- I thought of quality computer speakers --?????
5- Two speakers ?????

This is the fun part; Small speakers, Multi pedal, then a dust cover. Will I use the Pa4x to play out? Only if I get rid of the little raspy frog I’m hearing.

If you have room, I'd suggest two powered studio monitors on stands, next to the kb, and facing you. The M-Audio AV42s look promising.

I have a pair of these set up at my music shop for kb display.

The PAAS sounds great, and is a nice, neat look, but search it's shortcomings - I had to return mine because of certain inadequacies. If all you do is play the keys, with no external audio input - it's fine.

My office is just 12 X 15 feet, 8-foot high ceiling and carpeted floor. If I were in your shoes I would go with Logitech 2.1 and the price is great. You could even do some small nite club and restaurant jobs with it as well as nursing home jobs. 200-watts RMS power with lots of bottom end and punch.

Little different take here. I have my PA 4X set up in my bedroom(12 x 11). I use my Space Station as a monitor....works great.

I also use my SSV.3 for small gigs. Best thing about using this amp is that I can EQ the sound of the keyboard and amp using the MAXX EQ on the 4X.

That way I know just how the combo will sound at a gig.

The MAXX EQ built into the 4X is something else...capable of bringing out the best in my 4X/SSV.3 combo.

It all depends what you want to use them for, if it’s just for your bedroom studio, then some small studio monitors will be ideal, (Pop along to your local pro music store to try a few out) most computer speakers are designed to blast out games, so are not ideal for music, due to their lack of a flat uncoloured response. (Game and music requires very different setups)

If for use playing out on a gig, then speakers designed for this purpose are the way to go.

The only way to be sure is to try some out, to which suits you. (No to people hear the same)

I vote for the Logitech. I am still using my old Z2300 sub with my Spacestation. The bass is tight and non boomy.

I have a Z2200 in my office, still working great after all these years, with a Yamaha mixer that I never turn off. Also have a Z5500 that is normally in the living room but now setting in the garage! They are a little bass heavy, but easy to e.q.
