Saving the foot controller settings.
When I turn the keyboard back on they are lost. Tried finding the info in the manual; found everything but.

Thank you, John C.

You will need to save everything to a "Start-up" Registration that you create. Current Yammy owners will chime in. Korg and Ketron have it set up for you. Yamaha doesn't.

Looking at the reference manual section 7 page 85(?) there's a screen shot showing a list of settings groups, I would hope that you can scroll down this list to find a "controllers" group (I think that's what it is called on my Tyros 3 although the screen display is different)

Sorry Gary it is a S970.
Don I know what a "Start-up" Registration was on Korg, but where is on the S970.
It’s always the small things that get me.

Thanks, John C.

Press your "MEMORY" button and make sure pedal is checked.

John, it does NOT have a start-up Registration. You have to make your own. Just create a new Registration, save everything you want to load when you power on, name it "John's Start-up" or whatever you want. When you turn the keyboard, select this Registration.
You will have to take note of what Parameters you have to checked to save in the Registration.
Be sure to SAVE the Registration, then SAVE the Bank! Yamaha does not make it simple.

A "start" registration is just a specific registration bank which contains a single registration memory that sets the keyboard settings to your requirements. You then have to get into the habit of recalling that registration immediately after you power up the keyboard.
