Hi Professors, I am looking at this s/h model for a friend who is starting out.
What can you tell me about the pro's and con's,as I am not familiar with Yammies, and would it be equal to something like a Technics 2000,3000 5000, etc. which are the only ones I am familiar with around the price range.
Thanks
Ray dance

Gary, maybe this is your area, having a vast experience and appreciation of Yamaha.
I am sure you must have had one of these in the past??

Used keyboards for starters, i allways advise the Roland G70, which is probably from the same time as the 3000..

Why? Best sounds, styles and keybed found in any instrument more then 10 years old...

The PSR 3000 is probably one one the best of the psr series ever made
in my opinion.
but what do I know I only played one 7 days a week for 6 years. It still sounds great and it is still in use by a friend working part
time with it. It was a yamaha home run. Still sounds good.
GOOD LUCK WITH IT

The PSR 3000 would be good choice for your friend. On board styles and voices are good and still relevant and it has onboard speakers....add a thumb drive, visit the PSR Tutorial and he/she will have a wealth of styles, voices, midi and information that will enhance the enjoyment of owning and playing a PSR 3000.

It is an outstanding middle of the line arranger. Eddie has it right!
It would be hard to compare to Techics because they have been out of the market for quite some time. It has more modern features and far better vocal processing than any of them.
