Thanks to Bachus' recent thread about the Roland G70 I just finally took the plunge and purchased one second hand locally! Its one of those keyboards I have always heard alot of people rave about but never actually played one to any real extent.

I mainly want to use it for playing full piano mode over midi backing tracks. (Richard Clayderman style)

I have noticed there are heaps of those SRX boards available online but are they actually worth it? Is there anything that would be an absolute MUST have to compliment the sound set of the G70?

This is a whole new world to me

PS I still got my S970 and Motif XS going strong.

the main goal, the SRX-11 Complete Piano would be a good choice?

Myself, I had the SRX-07 Ultimate Keys, but honestly, except
for some of the SRX organs, I used the G-70 native sounds.

If it's worth it?
Maybe. If you're not happy with the G-70 as is and the sound
you seek are on a SRX board.
Guess you'll find some at eBay at reasonable prices.

I could not leave the srx slot empty
I chose the Studio card for my go to bass and drums..
SRX are quality samples..but the g70 sounds are also above average..
You will find the make up tools ..separate the g70 from the competition..

Definately a great investment, they keep their worth and are still much fun to play... And they have the best keybed of any arranger ever made..

SRX boards are quite rare these days and some even right out expensive.. Just wayt till you know the G70, youwill know by then what you would like to invest in...

I did some quick searching on Ebay and all the SRX boards are available everywhere and very cheap!! Approximately 100-150 USD including free delivery ex Japan or other countrys.

My G70 will be delivered next Tuesday so im starting to get very excited!!

I picked it up for $690.00 USD... pretty happy with that!!
