There will be some herritage from the Montage for sure...
As well as as the latest new stuff from the PSR S970...

Personally, i think the Tyros will set another step towards a workstation (With the montage moving away from workstation) which also leaves room for a new PSR PRO arranger keyboard, with Tyros 5 properties like SA2 and ensemble voices...

Since I started this post, I will say that I am very happy with the PA4X. With help from my friend Steve I have been able to
use Songbook and Setlist. Nice way to get your stuff in the
Korg. Sounds are excellent and styles are really "live".
So far my screen is working fine. Hope they find a fix. Lloyd

Dan,
Yes, I own the Korg PA4X. I am very happy with it after working
with the Korg OS. A friend of mine, Steve from R.I. has worked
with me to learn the Songbook and the Setlist, two very nice
features of the OS. The Korg is nice and compact compared to
the Yamaha Tyros 5 which I previously owned.

I have had no hangups so far and the screen adjustment mechanism
is working OK so far. Sorry to hear a few owners have had some
major problems with the adj. screen. Only way to really know
if Korg is for you is to go to a dealer and demo. one.
My dealer is Frank at Audioworks Ct. His prices are the very
best and he is a honest and caring dealer as many folks here
on Synthzone will attest to. Regards, Lloyd

Particularly in view of the small chance the screen might need attention, a great dealer is certainly necessary. No one would be better in this regard than Frank!

Don M,
Nice of you to give Frank his kudos. When things happen that require a dealer to step in, Frank is always there. This means
a lot in the case of the Korg screen mechanism. Lloyd

New Tyros:

Possible scenario?

Introduced 2018?
Available in limited quantities 2019?
Bugs worked out and in full production 2020?
Priced at $7,000?

If I wanted a new arranger and was debating buying the next Tyros vs. Korg PA 4X; don't think I'd wait around for something new from Yamaha.

expected scenario :
Introduced autumn 2017
Available in large quatities winter 2017/2018
No bugs to be mentioned, after all there where no real bugs in tyros , just minimal hindrancess

Price €4200 - €5400 depending on how advanced it is...and if there will be a psr s900 pro series

A lot of the new technollogies from the Montage like 2 dsp effects for every sound will find their way into the tyros5 replacement..
