I have a Ketron XD9-Great machine-good sounds, but I have this problem and i'm wondering has anybody had the same happen and is there a solution.Talking to some people that I think should know, they don't seem to know what i'm talking about, but these are engineers ,not musicians.I need to play a lot manually,ie.arranger off and no drumbeats.Right hand is fine but on the left with the keyboard set to BASS+LOWER I have a bass which is ok but having put instruments into the two lowers available in arranger view if I attempt to alter the volumes of these they are likely to mute and not sound at all.I am then left with a bass and right hand .This is not acceptable and the machine did not always behave in this way.I can right it by turning the keyboard OFF and then on again. Can anybody help. Can I do anything myself. It does not happen all the time and the engineers say they cannot do anything until it happens and stays there.

Are you using REGISTRATIONS or manually selecting styles and once a new REGISTER/STYLE is selected, you then notice a drop in bass volume?

Hi AJ,
Thank you for noticing my problem.I am using a REGISTRATION
especially for manually using the keyboard.I use registrations for normal playing as well and that is not affected. Its just when playing manually if I have to change a volume on one of the lowers through the arranger view (you cannot do it any other way)The lower volume can go silent completely and the only way to get it back is to change the registration or turn off the keyboard and turn it back on again. The bass line is not affected at all just the two lowers.Touching the Balance button has also muted them but not always.I have to be careful not to touch it after setting it up now and leave it alone. This is not always satisfactory though.

Hi AJ,
Just to fill you in on what i'm at.I have had a lot of ketrons getting my first one in 1996 ,an MS50.Since then I have had an X1 , an XD9 and an AUDIA 5.Unfortunately the Audia was a bit heavy for me and I could not get an accordion out of it which I liked over a four year period so I left it go.I then bought a secondhand XD9 which I have now. You cannot get new ones anymore.I play a lot for Seniors and most of them cannot follow the beat.this is my usual setup for them.Set up a registration with the following.
Right hand (program Piano+orchestra)
Left hand - with arranger on BASS+LOWER - BASS and two Lowers one with Piano and one with strings. With the volumes balanced this setup sounds pretty good for manual playing.I can also play anything in ONE TOUCH on the right without interfering with the left.Is there an easier way of doing this?Am I doing something wrong which is muteing the lowers on occasion.

Not sure if i am replying in the right way.Nothing wrong with the bass line ,just the two LOWERS go mute if I alter the volumes through the arranger view.
