Sad news for sure. There is a YouTube piece I wish I could find of him playing "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" at a tribute to George Harrison. Many think it is one of the best live guitar performances ever! R.
I never cared much for Prince's music. BUT........I have to admit he was some h**l of a musician. And that ride he did on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" was incredible. I didn't know he had that kind of "emotional maturity" in him. He certainly has MY respect now.

A true genius of his era. Played keyboards too and most of the instruments on his recordings. Self taught which is really amazing. Watching a special on him I never knew all the Philintropic work he did behind the scenes and withoput fanfare. I'll be doing a Wedding Monday and decided when its time to hit the dance music I'm going to open with 1999 in tribute.

On Thursday evening, the day of his death, I made a spontaneous little recording with the BK-9, an instrumental version of "Purple Rain", no rhythms, completely live including my new midi bass pedal. I was very impressed of 'Purple Rain' during my high school time in the mid 1980s.
