It's not that I played that much...12 times this month. However, that coupled with teaching troubled kids every day....well I'm ready for a break.

I don't play again till next Thursday. However, I teach again Monday.

If truth be known, I would choose playing twice a day to teaching part time. Believe me, playing music(though not easy) is fun, even with all the hassles of hauling equipment.

I'm hoping to develop a business playing music full time over the summer. Playing full time is not a piece of cake but still a hell of a lot more fun than teaching.

How about teaching music? I have learned that one major part of my involvement in the business is teaching people that there are more than 4 chords in the business...that there are reasons to at least appreciate the gamut of types of music...to learn to play an ever more sophisticated selection of structures, tempos, etc.

Of course, you run the risk of playing yourself out of a job.

The key is, keep learning and improving.
