Hi All,

Im considering buying a new Kindle Paperwhite for reading and this thought crossed my mind as to would it be possible to use it as a lyrics/ notation display. I tried using my ioadbut its too bulky and moves around. The kindle is smaller and lighter and probably easier to manage. Has anyone tried this method. Again I need to figure out how to put all my songs on the kindle. ANy thoughts here?

sunny, I don't use my Kindle Fire HD for anything other than reading books and it's just fine for that, and it will read most file formats, including PDF, so I'm sure it would be good for those of you that need to see the dots.

Assuming the paperwhite operates in the same way as the older models I have used, they will let you view PDF files. You copy them across from a PC using a micro USB cable, the kindle shows as an external memory device and you copy PDF's into the books folder the name of which I forget, but I got if off Google!

I'm not sure if you can use folders to organise files, although you might have to try if you have a huge number of files. You can certainly use collections.

I copy books into the Documents folder all the time. However, if you download the files direct to the Kindle Fire HD, they go into the Downloads folder ONLY and cannot be transferred to any other folder or area without the aid of a PC. Just a dumb way of doing things, but it is what it is.
