I recorded this song on the job with the Yamaha PSR S970. Dedicated to all of us who work at night! From the keyboard to Tascam DR05.

Hey Don

I love it. Great comping and vocal as usual. I think the S970 is excellent.

Mic was Sennheiser E945, hard to beat.
I got the Shure yesterday, Sunday, haven't tried it yet. Probably won't like it, but these four and five hour nights are giving me some neck problems. Thought the headset might help if I use it occasionally.

I hear ya Don....
I tried a few also but just couldn't cozy up to a head set mic myself for vocals, the feel, the look, wasn't MY cup of tea....
but I sure do love my Shure GLX D24 Mic system &
EV ND767. singer

I just tried the mic with my PA3X. It actually sounds really good, and is more comfortable to wear than the Crown was. I can't use it directly with the S970 because the Yamaha doesn't have phantom power, but I can run it into the Harmony M, or into my mixer. If the rain lets up I'll bring in the S970 setup from my vehicle and try it later.

Thank you guys. I am just a frustrated guitar player who finds it easier to do on keyboard than it was on guitar!

Yep, I know the feelin'! You're sounding more like Willie with every passing day, Don.

Gary this is a different version from the one on arrangerworld. As long as I don't look more like Willie, I'm happy.

Don: Geat job showing off your talents as well as the amazing guitars on the 970. It sounds like a live band to me.

Thanks for sharing!

I'm certainly old enough...but the jingleman came from writing over 3000 radio and television jingles since 1976.

What I wouldn't have done for a 970 back in the old days. Starting with all live musicians to basically going to all digital sampling instruments over the years...it does my heart good to see someone like yourself using this wonderful technology and making it sound as though the band is right there with you.

Thanks Don,
Jingleman (I think I just got an order for number 3001)

Great! I was in that business long ago as well. I was advertising manager for Murphy Oil Corp. back in the 60's-70's. Making tv commercials back then called for arranging talent, locations, creation. . .etc., and no internet, no cell phone...how did we do it? One person in a studio can now do what it took a dozen or more various "experts" to do back then.
But they were good times!

Your right on Don...they were good times. The synergy of a dozen or so musicians mic'd up in the studio playing together was an amazing sound.

Probably our claim to not so fame...was the jingle I wrote for Menards Building Centers.
The guys a billionaire and he gave us a whopping $1800 for the jingle back in 1981. He still uses it today..."Save Big Money at Menards"

Don, this was very nicely done, indeed. Excellent vocals. The guitars were your usual top notch emulations, but it was the surprise organ solo that had me grinnin'.

As they say here in Cape Breton..."You is real good, buddy...real good!"

Don...that was really enjoyable. Excellent vocals, and the Guitars do sound great on the 970...Do you use a foot pedal for guitar effects?

Thanks Larry. I don't use a foot pedal for that, just key pressure and the wheels.

Eddie: Can't believe you found it. Had I made a Penney for each time that jingle aired, I could have bought everyone on this forum a 970 and paid Don to teach us all his right hand guitar technique.

Thanks for digging it out.

No charge for that, but I can't s'plain it. You'll have to come to Louisiana and watch.

There might even be enough left over to cover the airfare for everyone to fly down and watch you play!

Would be fun...
