FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO HEAR BOTH THESE KEYBOARDS TOGETHER IN ONE PLACE AND HAD HOPED THAT THIS WOULD SORT OUT WHICH WAS THE BEST ONE TO GO FOR AS AN UPGRADE FROM MY KN6000. BEFORE TODAY I HAD SET MY MIND ON THE KN7000 BUT HAVING HEARD THE TYROS FOR THE FIRST TIME I AM NOT AT ALL SURE WHICH IS BEST ONE FOR ME. WHEN I BOUGHT MY KN6000 THERE WAS NO QUESTION WHICH IT HAD TO BE AS IT WAS FAR IN FRONT OF THE PSR9000
BUT NOW----WELL----THE TYROS HAS DEFINITELY COME INTO THE RECKONING,AS THESE ARE TWO VERY IMPRESSIVE INSTRUMENTS. THE DEAL ON THE PX FOR THE KN6000 IS £999 AGAINST THE KN7000 OR £1399 AGAINST A TYROS. I CAN GET A KN7000 NOW BUT I HAVE TO WAIT A FEW WEEKS FOR THE TYROS. YOUR VOTES PLEASE ON A FIVE POUND NOTE TO:

Hi John
Totally and utterly sold on the KN7000. Having now heard both side by side yesterday and the 7000 again today. The KN oozes quality and by comparison the Tyros is a little bit gimmicky. I don't particularly like the way the speakers are put on the top, it's a bit like 'close encounters of the third kind' and would be O.K. for E.T.
The multi pads (I think thats what Yamaha call them) aren't in the same class as the performance pads on the technics. The organ stylist on the technics are of a quality better than the tyros, although the tyros's are good. An overall score mark for my taste
would be Technics 10/10, Yamaha 8/10. So I think I better leave it at that and go out and buy one but not before I said thankyou to Bill Norrie for setting up such a great day and yourself for your excellent contribution. Thanks also to Dee, George, and of course, CHRIS and PAUL.
So here I go in search of the best deal.
Regards to everyone

Hello Peter,
I recently sold my 6000 and after years of owning Technics boards decided that the 7000 (whilst MUCH improved on the 6000) was not for me this time. I did decide to go with yamaha and had long admired the 9000Pro. I played the Tyros and decided having already sold the 6000 that the wait to actually get the tyros home was impossible for me to live with! I am quite taken with the 9000pro and am happy enough but I have to agree with you. There is NO COMPARISON with the Technics pads and Yammies pads. Technics win hands down. I really miss them.

After years of Technics I am having to concentrate really hard to get used to the Yamaha way of doing things. Now if they would only start selling Yamatech 7000 pro's I would buy one tommorow The only other option is to win the lottery and then get one of each I think. Having said all that I would not be surprised if I dont buy another 6000 or maybe 6500 just because I miss it! Don't get me wrong I lOVE the 9000Pro but I knew I should have kept the 6000 in reserve....why did I not listen to myself???
Best wishes and hope you really enjoy your new 7000.
Tony
