Hi there!

I'll appriciate if you can help me...

I have some styles from KN5000 in RCM file but I can't play to my KN6000.
Using the Style Converter Disk I can convert only from 750/800/1000.

Thank you in advance,

Klavier

Not sure what you mean by RCM file but normally KN5000 files will play without problem in both KN6000/6500 and KN7000 - they will appear when loaded by pressing the memory load button.

The simple answer to your question is that you can only do this, if you have access to a KN5000.
If KN5000 Style files have been saved as '.RCM' files, ie as a single load of 20 Custom styles, the KN6000/6500/7000 will NOT recognise this file. These keyboards use a '.CST' file for this purpose and the two are not compatible. However, if the KN5000 style files have been saved individually in '.CMP' format, they should load OK in to the KN6000/6500/7000.
The only way around this problem, is to copy all the files in the KN5000 Custom memory to Composer and then save them to floppy disc, but of course you need a KN5000 to do this and it's quite a long process.
If anyone is considering upgrading from KN5000 to KN6000/6500/7000 and have any of your own styles or commercial style discs, which are in '.RCM' format, then if you wish to retain them for use on the KN6000/6500/7000, convert them to '.CMP' format, before parting with your KN5000.

Thank you for your answers!

I have no access to KN5000 anymore...so I can't do this!It is really a long process and I would do this but I'm out ... I already sold my KN5000 before 10 months. I used KN2000, KN5000 for almost 6 years and now I have KN6000.

But anyway, these are some kind of greek styles and if somebody have the KN5000 and is interesting about... I can give a copy and in the same time can convert for my KN6000 in CMP format and can help me ...I'll realy appriciate it.

Don't forget TECHNOTE! They offer all the KN5000 styles on disk. There are three volumes available. I had a KN5000, and missed a number of its styles - these disks are the quick, easy answer.

Clavier was trying to get some custom styles on a KN5000 disk into his KN6000. He sent me the styles which I converted to composer format using a KN5000 and sent back to him. So, I believe that he has what he wanted. But, I have not been able to get back to him via email to verify that he got the mail. Recent email is being returned as not deliverable.
