This song has been covered by many artists. One of the earliest versions was by one of the singing cowboys of my youth, Gene Autry. Gene became a multimillionaire thanks to his recording of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer". This song is jazz styled and sung in the fashion of someone like Frank Sinatra.

This has a lot of views but no one has commented. I was hoping for some feedback as I don't often sing in this genre.

Aye, Aye, Aye, Aye Aye! Don, everything you do is good and this is certainly no exception. The jazz style works. I'd probably prefer it with more of a Latin/Mexican feel.

Thanks for weighing in guys. I might have seen this when I was a kid.

Under no circumstance though did I sing "Apon her face" or "fiester". Maybe he had some of that "kickapoo juice" before the performance. Can't believe how prominently the finger snap comes across.

God Bless.

Yes Willie does a good job on this one. I really like Chris Izaak's version. The brushes and the guitar solo compliment his laid back gentle singing.
