But with every Tom, Dick and Harry producing, or at least dabbling in, 'music' these days, no doubt they've had enough of Apple hogging the market. Same thing happened with desktop publishing earlier where everyone suddenly became typesetters, proofreaders (not that you'd notice much), and printers.
