From the comments they mentioned in that video it seems that its a re-face of the older Yamaha synth sounds. Perhaps they`ll have the FM sounds in it. Its Yamaha`s answer to what Roland is doing with the recreation of their vintage synth line.

Such products give that nostalgic feeling to musicians who loved their boards from the 80`s. Lets wait for the facts to be sure what it is.

"Yamaha's Answer to Kronos"...really??

That would mean that one is superior over the other..

Have you ever used (actually used properly / performed with or recorded with) a Kronos and a Motif XF?

The Kronos is arguably Korgs "Answer" to Yamaha as it came out after the Motif XF and has gone through a few generations and major feature releases since its release in 2011, (Motif XF released in 2010)

There is no "better" machine between the two as they both have equal strengths and weaknesses over each other in different areas.

If this new announcement is in fact a brand new TOTL synth from Yamaha it is simply the latest in the 4 year refresh cycle.

In one of the older posts on this forum, two trademarks were registered: one for Reface and the other for Montage. So it could very well be Reface, which includes a nice recreation of the older synths and Montage is the Motif successor.

Its not tomorrow, it says 15 days... Which is at Summer Namm? If i am correct..

Its part of the new motif range.... There will be a reface for live use and a montage for studio use..... It will incorporate many of the old technollogies in a virtuall form, like CS-80, DX1, VL1, VP1, AN1 and some more, combined with the AWM technollogy of Motif and Tyros... On top of that there will be a new arp style arrangements thing for live use, much more advanved then th Motif arps .. With real time interaction..

The biggest difference between reface and montage will be the interface.. The interface of reface is supposed to be heavilly intuitive and modern probably heavy touchscreen based.. The interface of the montage will be more oldfashioned..

And yes, this is a direct competitor to the Kronos and Rolands system1 aira

Some people in another forum including me didn't notice the grey number of days on the left...
If it's really a live synth, it could be exciting.

So many assumptions on all those forums.. And only a few people have real info... And dont worry about the grey numbers, everyone could have missed them..

I am quite convinced that Yamaha will finally blow people away with the innovation they had decades ago..

Back to yamaha rumors, this describes some pattents for full audio accompaniments with chord switching...

http://sandsoftwaresound.net/yamaha-speculation-montage/

On other sites they are still discussing if this is part of the montage or reface, but the writer of the blog indicates it might also be some technollogy that never made tyros 5..
