Guess I've had my Yamaha for 2 years now. (I thought 3!) The news is full of the trial of the terrorist responsible, along with his deceased brother, for the injuries and death in Boston a couple of years ago. These two fanatics bombed the finish line and surrounding area at the Boston Marathon. As I watched television news there was a shot of graffiti spray- painted on a brick wall. The message was "Only Light Drives Darkness Away". After letting that sink in along with all the horrible details of the tragedy, I sat down at my brand new PSR S750 and composed and recorded this song. It was my way of dealing with this tragedy. I was extremely distraught as an 8 year old boy was killed and his mother severely injured. I used to teach 8 year olds and I thought of how devasted I and the rest of the class would be if this had happened when I was a primary teacher.

I hope you pick up on the message of hope I tied to weave into this tragic song.

Don,

Your song struck a chord close to home. A good friend of mine and former co-worker ran Boston that year, she'll be running it again this year for the 4th time. She was approaching the finish line but for the Grace of God she was not close enough to be injured. Her 3 children and husband were also near the finish line where they were sitting in spectator bleachers all escaped without any visible injuries. Hard to say what long term trauma the children may suffer later in life. For many years may wife and I were also a spectators at the finish line of the marathon we were not there that year. Nevertheless thank you for taking the time to compose that tune.

Stephen,

The Grace of God indeed!!! What gets me is that these twisted individuals think they are serving God by perpetrating these abominable acts. Thank God that your friend and her family were not among those hurt in this devastating act of terrorism.

God Bless,
Don

Good job with the song.

Unfortunately in other parts of the world people like are considered heroes for their country or religion. If you don't understand take a look at American sniper who is also considered a hero for his country and his religion. And I am not comparing here, he was a trained killer and these boys are just couple of loonies who barely know how to wipe their butt. Unfortunately , once we get it it will be too late for all humans.
And if I was any religious I would have to put some blame on my god too.He could have stopped it at the beginning.

I am really glad your friend and their family was not hurt in this idiocratic way to promote any kind of religion.I know Fox News live for something like this..
