Chas - I have a set of PK5a. I always keep some kind of bass pedals around; I'm a organist first...

Donny - I'm not a digger or a big styles user. I do little if any editing. The 900 has some features that appeal to me at this time.

I think if I still feel this way after Easter, the s950 will go up for sale and a PA900 will take its place. In the meantime, the SK1 and BK7m will be stay-at-home projects.

Don please explain further....

I've done that on several occasions before. But briefly, the Pa900 styles sound more live, and it has great vocal harmony, has great Songbook feature, has joystick, has superb keybed, handles text files better, has aftertouch, has free updates from time to time, will accept midi foot controller easily, has large color touch screen, and other features that are important to me. However, they and those mentioned, may not be as important to you.
And, I must add, the 950 has excellent lead sounds, particularly lead guitars. I have had to dig to find comparable guitars for the Korg, but they are there and I'm happy with them now.
Nothing wrong with either keyboard. I just prefer what I have now to what I used to have! smile

Cass, if you find someone foolish enough to trade a PA900 for an S950...Grab it grin

I had Uncle Dave's PA 900 for a couple weeks, and tested it thoroughly..To me it is heads and shoulders better than the S950..

Sounds are subjective, but I like the bread and butter sounds on the Korg..better..The Korg does have the same characteristic "synthy" sound it always had...sometimes a good thing..
The Yamaha has an overall sound I just don't like..just not realistic enough (live)..

Korg has a way better keybed..Touchscreen, a better media player, and better edits.....it adds up to a no brainer.. smile

Yamaha users are use to their boards, and won't open their eyes and compare the real differences..

Don and Fran, thanks for those last posts. Fran has never steered me wrong and Don's opinion is also the tops. I'll be in the land of Graham and Diki during March and will be keyboardless. While I'm down there I will make an attempt to find a PA900. Until then I'll be doing a lot of googling and YouTubing...

Steve ... I am not asking this in a sarcastic manner, but I just wonder how many of those 600 styles you actually use ... I have loads of styles in my Pa900, but in actuality use only a 'handful' of them ...

Tony, No offense taken smile I'm a member of that same club you're in. I only use a handful of them, many genres aren't even used.

Sometimes playing something entirely new helps to improve skills just by learning new technology etc.

I've thought of buying a Korg, just to learn the different technology.

This is a bit of a Segway...but.

I just bought an iPad Air tablet. I've been an Android guy for years...sold Android phones/tablets and Apple as well. I have an Android smartphone.

I wanted to learn the OS of Apple just to have a new challenge. If I don't like the iPad, I'll sell it and I believe somewhere along the line, I'll learn a few new tricks that might work on my Android phone.

Also, I substitute teach quite a bit and education is the world of Apple as business is the world of Windows and Android. Understanding Apple OS will help me in my teaching.

So, I'm hoping to learn both worlds.

What the heck, I might even buy a PA900 as well. Why not? I have several different types stringed instruments. Learning to play mandolin actually helped me to play the guitar a bit better.
