Style conversion software like EMC Style Works can convert styles for most arranger keyboards. Is there such a program that will convert midi files edited on a particular arranger to make the files playable on an arranger with a different ‘engine’? I am particularly interested in converting midi files that were edited with the Ketron Midjay Plus so that they are playable in the Ketron SD1Plus. I am hoping that such software exits as I have loaded and edited about 9,500 midi files in the Midjay Plus over the years and would like to use the files with the SD1Plus. Thanks
Ciao,
Jerry

You can use the Audya style compiler, available in the software download on the Ketron site.

The midi info has to be in a specific format, with specific tags.

The easiest way is to convert an existing style to midi and start there.

Still not an easy process.

As far as I know, SMF midi files are universal except they use the GM soundset and not the higher banks specific to different keyboards.

Since you are obviously very familiar with midi files, I assume you want specific sounds.

Bingo Bernie! Sequences made and EDITED on an SD1 are playable on a Midjay, and files edited on a Midjay are playable in an SD1. But, the files edited with a Midjay Plus, using the MJPlus soundset are not playable with the SD1Plus. I was hoping that software was available that would work like EMC Style Works that could be used with midi files.
Ciao,
Jerry

You can use cakewalk or cubase for midi edit..for sound sets you will need .ins (instrument definition file) for cakewalk

Thanks Mr. Bomabastic and Bernie, but I just may be dreaming. There are several programs that will edit files for the SD1Plus from GM, but nothing else involving midi files. I've been using the Midjay Plus (and the Midjay before that) since their respective releases so I've accumulated and edited lots of files. I have a custom SD1Plus that I want to put back in action. I do use the 2 pieces together frequently, registrations on the SD1+ and midi files with the Midjay Plus ... Oh well, may have to continue doing that.

Hi,

you could try the freeware "PSRUTI", it´s usually written for Yamaha PSR-Keyboards, but (batch-) revoicing is very easy with it wink.
I used it to revoice my Yamaha-Tyros1-files to GM ("GM-revoicing") and then the "midifile Optimizer" ( 150 €... ) to revoice it to Audya.

You´ll find it HERE

For english language scroll down a bit wink
