I was in Chicago last weekend and I went to Guitar Center, asked for some headphones and played the PSR950 for about 90 minutes. I thought the audio styles were a significant improvement over the other styles. On the non audio styles I keep wanting to hear more drums. Now I realize this was out of the box and not tweeked at all. I liked the styles, intros, and endings. The organs were pretty good, better than on my G70 but not quite as good as the Casio WK7600. For my style of playing I wanted the piano an octave down but when switching to other voices they were also an octave down. I couldn't figure out how to exit the OTS. I could see myself playing on one of these.

Tom, I've got an s950 and love it. Gary's got some killer pianos that will solve that problem for you. I can't agree on the organ sounds vs the G70 because those were pretty darn good. The s950 drawbars sound good but not that good. I love the ease of the OS too. Find yourself a good deal and get one - you'll be happy you did. smile

Tom, after you tune it, you will absolutely love what you hear. It's an incredible keyboard, and likely the last I'll ever purchase - at least if my wife has anything to do with it. wink Give Frankie a call - he'll be more than happy to work with you.

Keep us posted,

Gary cool

I agree. Frank is a good way to go. The keyboard is very tweakable.

I'm wondering if Yamaha is going to come out with a new model this fall. My gut feeling is it won't be until next year.

Next year, Larry, that would be about the right time frame.
