Yes it is, and much of it relates to other PA models.

Is this something they put together for the dance and club generation?

The whole idea was to show the versatility of an arranger keyboard for music creation in lots of ways . It s the most detailed demo I have seen that shows the application of arranger keyboards in a contemporary way and still only scratched the surface .

I think as a keyboard it's a great budget pa900 but for dance and club it's light years away. My 17 year old daughter would laugh at this if I said to her this was dance / club standard. No arranger keyboard has come close to replicate a true authentic club / house / garage sound yet, not even my T4 with the euro dance pack still sounds toy'ish like, it's very fun but also very karaoke standard. It's going to take a lot of professional programming and quality samples to make arrangers sound believable in this area.

All it takes is some creativity . No keyboard will give you that ! Here is a dub step style someone created on their pa600 . http://pa600.blogspot.co.il/2014/07/new-beta-dubste-style-for-korg-pa600.html?m=1

The demo is quite good. It's nice to see an arranger demo's not targeted to the old fuddy-duddy crowd that wants to sound just like Larwence Welk.

Just how much gear would you need get an authentic dance/club sound for a LIVE performance? Would it even be feasible to take it all out for a little gig?

Personally I don't see why you couldn't put on a pretty convincing show in most styles of music using just about any of today's arranger keyboard. Of course you'll need some good sound and maybe lights too. Most importantly you'll have entertain the audience and probably sing really well or have a great singer with you.

Now trying to please a teen crowd would be pretty tough. They want to hear the latest hits. If it sounds a bit different then the original artist (especially the vocal) they may not like much. Better to let the DJ's entertain the teens.

BTW, has anyone here ever DJ'd a teen dance? It pretty darn tough! You get kids crowed around you making request after request, complaining if they happen to not like the particular song your playing (even if the dance floor is packed) In my case, I have to make it a rule that the kids can't crowd around the DJ booth and only the adult chaperons can make requests. Now who's the old fuddy-duddy?

To make my point more clear: I am fortunate enough in my opinion
the best arranger keyboard for my favorite style of music, tropical Latin. As good as my Audya 5 is, it's not going to sound any where near as good as a great salsa live band. Tito Puente or Celia Cruz, may they rest in peace, would not want to record their album with an Audya 5. But I'm no Tito Puente. I just perform little gigs in Dallas, TX. The places I play can't afford or have the space for a full size band. I don't want to play with tracks so an arranger keyboard works for me and my clients needs.
