I don't understand all that technical business stuff. I still like my BK9. Hope they continue to produce quality products.

Almost as much of a shock as when I found out Makers Mark Bourbon was sold !!!

Roland's document about the buy out is not very promising regarding arrangers and synthesizers. It just says that Roland is going to focus on high-sales segments such as pianos, drums and guitar accessories. Let's hope this does not mean synthesizers and arrangers will be abandoned.

Roland released a new business report today (see roland.com and click on Investor Relations). I'm more optimistic now, at least it says sales of home arrangers have been satisfactory in Asia... I also have a positive impression of the new managing director, he has a pleasant, relaxed Facebook profile and his track record says he was strongly involved in the development of XP series, SRX expansion boards and classical instruments such as Roland/Rodgers church organs and digital harpsichords. With this background and his hopefully strengthened position due to the management buy out, I don't expect him to shrink Roland to pianos, drums and guitar accessories...

The management buyout has succeeded now! The new owner of Roland is Tayio, not the Roland Foundation any more.

I hope that they make some pro arrangers, that can compete with the BIG BOYS.
