I have a talking scale ... I stepped on it yesterday and it shouted "HEY, one at a time!"

I'm serious now. I thought I was having a heart attack last night. I was about a minute away from dialing 911. Blood pressure shot way up. I actually took a nitro tablet. I've had them since my stent, but never took one before.
I think it was God saying "lose the weight if you don't want to see me real soon!"
I'm hoping it was combination of side effects of the antibiotics I'm on and plain old panic. Still I'm making an appointment with my heart doctor tomorrow.
On top of all that I got a slight sunburn playing golf today. smile

Sounds like something you definitely should get checked out right away. Keep in mind that those treated stents that are not supposed to plug up, do plug up and quite frequently. I should know - mine did!

I firmly believe in the power of prayer, and am praying right now for you! You don't know me, but God does and will answer my prayer for you!

Gary, thanks. My stent is not treated. It's a very large one too. If I have a problem I expect it to be in a different location.
Keith, thank you!

Don ... I know I don't have to say this, but make sure you take care of yourself ...
BTW ... several years ago I was getting attacks of chest pain which would result in EMS calls to my house, frequent visits to the ER, etc. ... after several different cardio tests, it was determined (fortunately) that it was not my heart ... more 'attacks' (and they always had all of the 'heart attack' symptoms), more ER visits, many more tests, and finally it was diagnosed as pretty severe GERD ... after many trials of different meds, I am now on a daily dose of 'Dexilant' which has REALLY curbed those attacks ... so, do all the cardio testing, but don't overlook the possibility of GERD ...

Praying for your good health, and the good health of everyone here ...

GERD is nasty, Tony - I've only experienced it a few times, thought I would puke my guts out - NASTY! The problem resolved itself when I dumped the pounds - hasn't happened since.

The excess weight is the key to all my ailments. I've been on my diet again for three days and at least I'm in the 280s now.
I will get to 250 within three months!
Maybe four months . . .
Then I will be only 25 pounds overweight. frown

Yep, excess weight will literally slow you down in many ways, while increasing the load on your heart. It's also a killer to your joints, especially knees and hips and lower back.

I found the secret to staying at a reasonable weight is to eat "little and often" as opposed to one or two big meals, especially if they are at the end of your day.

I'm no "health nut" but I do look after myself reasonably well, and get some walking and exercise in every day, plus I got rid of the stress in my life by changing some living and work situations.

I found I took far less good care of myself and ate poorly when stressed out.

I'm 6'2" and around 190 lbs and have stayed there for the past several years due to doing the above...I'll be 65 next month.

Also, I take a halibut liver oil capsule, and 1000 IU of Vitamin C every day, and eat lots of fiber rich foods...although I still like an occasional pig out on junk food.

I hope you can get the weight under control, Don...I'm sure you will, if the incentive is big enough.

Ian
