ok, i'm a digidesign-fan, but that's only 'cause i've made positiv experience during the last few years..
the digi001 converters sound great! it doesn't matter which program you use. It's up to your likings. What i like in ProTools is the easy flexible workflow. it's amazing how fast pieces of audio are cut together! even the digi-plugins and the ones that come from third-party manufacturers are fantastic.

but also try out logic... it easily integrates with nearly every hardware and supports the TDM-bus if you have. its a great sequencer too.
suggest to run protools for your audio and run logic synced in background for sequencing... a powerful combination!!
