Today I wanted to clone the hard drive of my Ketron SD1 to have a backup in case of hard drive failure.
I have connected the SD1 and an empty fat32 formatted drives to my computer with usb adapters
The computer will recognize the empty drive but not the SD1 drive.In disk management is shows unknown Not Initialized 5.59 Unallocated and says you must initialize it to continue.
It is not showing in Acronis True Image either.
I see in google that if you initialise a hard disk,you loose all the information on it.
Does anyone know how I can proceed to make a backup. I am afraid of wiping the SD1 disk.

Once I had a problem with a file on my AUDYA 76 HardDisk. On top of the index of the HD here was a file named with some chineese characters or something like this. I could not delete this file with my AUAYA and I could not delete it with Windows 7. Then I found "LINUX MINT 14.1 Mate" on the internet - downloaded it - burned a CD with this program - started my PC from the disk - connected my AUDYA with USB. And now I could delete this silly file without problems.
Maybe you could use this to recognize the SD1 drive??? I don´t know.

Thanks for your tips. I have long struggled with an empty file that was in my single registrering that I do not in any way be able to delete before your helpful tips

Can I ask you please orla if you used any particular software programme with Linus Mint or does it include its own cloning software.

Sorry - I didn´t use any particular software - I only used LINUX to delete the strange file, which I couldn´t delete other ways. Thereafter I used it to make a backup of all my registrations and it worked out fine.
