Donny's question about and old song got me thinking. Because of this weather and it being a gig downtime for some what new tunes are you looking to learn?
With the tune give us an idea of where you plan to preform it or is it a just for fun project ?
Myself --I'm putting together a Beatles Medley for outside summer gigs.
Clocks by Coldplay --just because I dig the simple piano riff. Found a good Style on the BK9 for it too.
Walkin in Memphis --- Been on the back burner forever. Maybe make it into an upbeat dance tune.
Blue Bayou. ---Just to have another Med. ballad . Seems like a good Summer type song also.

Always working on new ones, but most are not really new - just old songs that people love to hear and I'm adding to my performance list.

Lately, I've been getting lots of John Denver requests, so I added Annie's Song, Sunshine On My Shoulder, Southern Nights, which was not a Denver song, but they seem to like it, and Back Home Again.

Every week I try to add one or two more to the list, especially on weeks like this one when the snow keeps my inside.

Good thread, Bill ... I am thinking of learning "One Way Ticket" that Rico played - of course it might be easier for me to sing it than play it ... grin

Blue Bayou and Two Pina Coladas have been on my playlist for a while ... I did a Beatles medley with the guitar player from my old NY band in New Jersey this past summer, but he had mp3's on his jam box ... I am working on the Pa900 'Liverpool' styles for myself ...
I've done Tequila Sunrise in the past, but it would be good to work on using the on-board harmonizer ... any KORG players doing this and care to share the VH settings? wink

I am also preparing a playlist of LOVE songs for my St. Valentine's gigs ...

So how's your madrigal repertoire? LOL

What people want to listen to certainly has an expiration date!

Just started doing several Kenny Rankin type songs. Some, I've done for a while, but he had a way of doing material that immediately put a very personal stamp on them. These include:

* Hiding Inside Myself
* That's All
* When Sunny Gets Blue
* Why Do Fools Fall In Love?
* Here's that Rainy Day.
* Blackbird.

He had a way of making the combo of nylon string guitar and his superb voice so completely unique and personal.

Check him out, sometime.

An all-time favorite.

Working up a bunch of Mardi Gras type Louisiana tunes lately.

Meters, Prof. Longhair, Kermit Ruffins, Beausoleil, that kind of stuff.

A few new arrangements of stuff I've done before..."Hymne" by Vangelis (using an edited Irish Hymn 1 on T4), "A New Kid In Town" by the Eagles, "Moon River" done as a Jazz Ballad rather than a Waltz, and a reworking of "Alone Again, Naturally" by Gilbert O'Sullivan.

My friend with the Tyros5-76 is giving me a brand new printer (I don't have one) so I can finally print off a bunch of tunes I downloaded from Wikifonia (now closed) some time ago.

No shortage of great tunes, that's for sure.
