Hello,

I have searched previous posts, but not found any answers.

I am going to be recording using cakewalk on a PC from a keyboard. I will probably be using monitors.

Are all monitors magnetically-shielded?

Do monitors work well for other computer audio like DVDs and computer games?

Does the same apply to hifi system speakers? (Dolby surround sound speakers)

Thanks,
Thomas

Yes, one monitor can do it all but...if you go for a higher-end models (which I suggest you do go out and buy), be careful not to overload them or you might damage them. Remember, since these are frequency-tuned precise equipment, they are also quite sensitive and will give to the slightest "rumble" of gunfire from the latest blockbuster on DVD. For this use, try going for an affordable but good four-point speaker surround system. Hope this helps.
