With better worldwide Marketing & good PR.....and a arranger that sounds so LIVE as shown....
The Ketron Audya could put a serious dent in Tyros5 sales Imo.

And for those very reasons you mentioned, Donny, Audya will never be a threat to Yamaha. You could have the absolute best arranger keyboard on the market and sell it for half the price, but if no one knows it's out there, they'll never sell.

Hmmm, I can't see that happening. Tyros sells so well because of its smooth, compressed, CD-like sound, so why would everyone flock to Audya with its LIVEness, ergo, the antithesis of Tyros.

If anything, Audya should grab sales away from Korg. That's where the 'live' afficionados mainly hang out. Then again, Ketron's (in)famous initial availability and subsequent after-sales service would surely put the kibosh on any major buying shift.

Well isn't it true most tyros users are always complaining about the drum sets NOT BEING LIVE sounding? That's alone can drive people away if they had other great choices like the Audya......I think the Audya and Ketron in general always gets a bad Rep......... I have performed with and owned many Ketron arrangers thru the years & although they might not be as big as Yamaha they truly show effort in innovations year after year, it's an ongoing process.......and you dont have to keep buying upgraded kb's that honestly don't have many changes all the time. As I said in other posts as these kb's become more and more the same old model after model Audya might be the one to keep an eye on in teh arranger KB world....AJ is doing a fine job. clap headphone clap

I wouldn't say that. God has gifted me with an excellent job. However I must not abuse what I earn. I can purchase an Audya, PA3X or even a T5 but I must also justify it because I already have more than sufficient keyboards. The Audya wouldn't replace my T4 (and S950) because they are both more than I ever needed. So getting an Audya would be an addition.

Real nice clean sound, not drenched too wet with reverb. Nice style design. Outstanding drums. Congratulations. Hal

With the AJAMSONIC upgrade Version 3 (free download to current AUDYA series AJAMSONIC owners coming soon at www.Ajamsonic.com), all styles and sounds will be of such quality and more ....

It's coming ... AUDYA reborn yet again (and no, you don't have to buy a new keyboard)!

Thanks,

AJ

Great work, you got it right on . If were to walk into a club and heard that I would swear there was a good sounding live band . The AUDYA is an amazing Keboard and your programming top shelf all the way. The drumming was off the hook Dude.

I think the styles demonstrated were just ok not even great and I mean no disrespect to the programmer . What heard in the gospel style was a very flashy drummer focused intro and ending and I have no idea what "gospel" type style was meant to be demonstrated but it was wide off the mark . The only thing that sounded remotely authentic was the live drumming because it was live . The rest of the instrumentation was just ok . There is lots of potential here and I respect the project and wish the audya well . But that was a C plus from a fan of the audya not a hater . The styles are everything to an arranger keyboard .

For continuing to enrich to what is already an amazing board which i have the privilege of owning. Im grateful for the simple fact that something which is 5 years old still today gets upgrades and refinements without costing an arm and a leg..

I think the bottom line about arranger players is, TBH, most of them don't really care too much about the band. Listen to the vast majority of user arranger demos, and you hear the backing utterly swamped by what the player is playing. So, all in all, I think the Audya is up against it, having a GREAT live backing sound, but RH voices that don't quite match up to the best of SA2 and the like.

That doesn't appear to be the priority of the majority of arranger users!

And yes... pretty much stumped thinking of any 'gospel' that sounds like this. 'Soul', yes, but gospel? Not really. Bit too busy, TBH, from the drummer. Maybe as a set ender or showstopper, but if you are planning on a whole bunch as busy as that, not really sure you know your target buyer that well... LOL

My friend Diki.....
You are right....
However...
I am musician also, and I am used many thinks, and many different keys..However if I like a style, or a sound, I use it and I will put it in my life, but if I do not like something, I not use it, and not very interested who is the title or name.... If not I like anything, simply I do not use it.... smile
Thanks!

besides the GREAT sound this is a big advantage to Yamaha and other players who are sick of spending a fortune upgrading every year or so with a new model.......

I totally agree with Diki on the usual swamped mixes in arranger demos. That said, and I know that drums is the big feature on Audya, this Gospel/Soul demo overcooks it. Drums are a shade too forward in that mix, and snare 'ring' was just a tad overbearing. It's supposed to be a style, not a drum clinic.

I think you're right but Yamaha does have a huge library of styles in which most you can download for free so although not quite an upgrade, it still can keep things a little fresh. I didn't have anywhere near the amount of new styles for Korgs, GEMs and Ketrons I've owned in the past.

And there is a huge resale market for korg and Yamaha keyboards so the initial investment is not completely lost . How easy is it to sell an audya .... But then I guess some would argue why would you ?

The thing that struck me about this style was simply that the drums were on one level, the rest of the backing was laying back. On the whole, in a real band, the drummer starts cooking this hard, the whole BAND starts cooking hard.

Most of the time I see this happening in a real band, the bandleader gives a withering look at the drummer, and hopefully he settles down!

Sokratis,
Am I the only one hearing the drums "jump" or being less than seamless on the soul demo in variation change on 1:28 and one or two other places? It think it is the same fill on all instances.

By the way the musicorama.set for the P600 was superb!

koryfaio klarino!

You are right Diki....

However the mix of style will be complete from AJ to Balanced with all Ajamsonic styles and sounds....

Here the style is uncomplete... We have also in 4 Variation a change in orchestration...
Listen here the Variation 4 that it is 32 Bars......
