Don Mason didn't give me an assignment this week, but I heard an instrumental version of this on the PSR Tutorial forum and absolutely fell in love with the song.

Someday Soon

Thanks Paul, I'm really having a lot of fun with the S950 and all its built-in features. What an incredible tool for active entertainers.

Nice job Gary...different phrasing, but it works a treat. And you didn't even use one VST, although they appear all the rage lately.

I knew the guy that wrote that tune...Ian Tyson, a real life cowboy, I played in a house band that backed him up, many moons ago.

A real nice guy.

Keep the tunes comin'...don't wait for DonM...he's probably golfing.

Ian, I just heard this one for the first time a couple days ago, and then downloaded it from You Tube by Suzzie Bogguss. I tried to get the phrasing as close to hers as possible, but she has the ability to hold some notes longer than me. My shot to Hell lungs sometime make this a bit difficult.

thanks for the complements,

Gary cool

I thought your phrasing was fine, Gary, as you made the song your own. Judy Collins did a nice version as well.

I love the chord changes in that tune...simple but very effective. Works real nice as an instrumental, with the Tyros4's SA2 Harmonica.

Hi Gar,
Enjoyed your rendition of this Ian Tyson Classic. and think you've captured the emotion of this song. smile
That said, I'd like to suggest Moe Bandy's version sung from a male perspective. cool

Hi Gary,.....nice job on this tune as always.. clap
Here are a few observations I would consider,.....in order to not have the song linger on repeatably in one key I would suggest that after the instrumental solo you give it a 1 step up "modulation" to give the song "LIFT" & More Energy for the listener creating an exciting moment!
I have taken the liberty to give you a short example of what I mean if you listen at :34 headphone I also added some EQ..
see what you think...and keep those tunes coming. cool2

Thanks Donny, good suggestion - I'll give it a try when I do the song tomorrow on the job.
