Looks big, doesn't it? I liked the footprint on the Audya better, but it had awkward placement of the wheels, above the keybed. I think the 61-note Audya with the joystick would be better ergonomically, but you're back to 61, not 76.
I'm sure the T5 will be a fine unit. I think the chances of my getting one are about 1 in 1000. In other words, I'd buy a ticket for a raffle if someone were selling them. If I won, I'd set it in the living room, hooked up to the Logitech surround system and leave it there.
The only things that interest me for the future would be a PA4X or possible the Ketron Mid-Pro, anticipated in April. If it's anything like Ketron's usual time table, it could be a year from April! I very happy with what I have, and have barely scratched the surface of its capabilities.
My last two keyboards, PA3X and PSR S950, were both ordered sight unseen and I got lucky with both of them, because they were pretty much as expected, or better. I sure don't like doing it that way though.
Sorry for rambling; good find on the pic!

Big foot print. I can deal with the length but the width is extreme (reminds me of old analog synths ,ARP or OBhm anyone?Yamaha Design team should learn learn from pa3x and bk9 how to make it solid yet light and manageable size.

When everyone want's black, why silver? Are they going to give us the option of color like the annivers model?

I suppose of all the factors that go into an arranger decision, color is the least important to me!
Around here Purple and Gold (LSU) would sell great.

That's a much better picture, Donny, thanks for posting it.

The new color is alleged to be slate grey or a little darker than the current silver.

I'm with DonM on this one...color is least important, though I think I might make an exception with the purple.

However, Barney the Dinosaur would probably love it.

I checked the Tyros5-61 specs, and according to those, it is not any thinner than a Tyros 4 ... actually, the Tyros5-61 is nearly identical in ALL 3 dimentions, to a Tyros 4.

I too had hoped they had "put the Tyros on a bit of a diet"! :-)

It does say in some forums, that the Tyros5-61 is lighter than the Tyros4, so perhaps the Tyros5-76 will be a very reasonable weight for a TOTL 76'er?

The interest in both versions is quite strong...my email is very busy with a lot of questions, which I, unfortunately, can't answer.

Only 6 more days.
