This is a serious problem and a deal breaker for me.

If I plug my midi cable into Midi channel One of the Audya 4, all voices play normal with no vibrato effect. However, the keyboard will NOT trigger the Arranger with this setting even though I go into MIDI settings and set the kb trigger to Input 1.

If I plug my midi cable into midi channel Two (KB) and set the kb trigger to Input 2, all lead voices have vibrato; whether piano or organ or whatever.

I have checked all modulation settings, midi-clock/sync settings of my trigger keyboard (Yammy Motif XS) etc.

Also, I am unable to use the Keyboard Split function to change the split point USING THE KEYBOARD. This tells me something is wrong with the MIDI configuration between my keyboard and the A4 module.

Your Midi controller/keyboard Global/Right Midi out channel needs to match the Global/Right Midi in Channel on AUDYA-4.
* Menu
* Midi
* Channel Rx (receive).
==> Check your Midi OUTPUT on your controller and match AUDYA's RIGHT Midi in to that channel. Default is usually "1".
Thanks,

AJ

HI AJ,

Thanks for the help. I did get past that step without any change. However, I have discovered the root cause is rooted in the the messages the Yamaha Motif XS is sending MIDI data. It is apparently sending additional messages along with Key On. When I swapped controllers and used my Roland Fantom G6 instead of the Motif, the Audya 4 started behaving correctly.

@kbrkr

I'm not sure I want to ask your opinion regarding the integration of the Audya 4 and the Motif XS I was trying to avoid a second board, but I am considering the Audya 5 after following your troubles. Would you get the 4 again, or would you have just gotten the 61 key Audya 5. I think the cost difference is only $100.
